Ingredients
1 medium RSPCA Assured egg at room temperature
Method
Fill a small saucepan with enough water to submerge the egg completely.
Bring the water to a boil.
Carefully slide the egg into the water.
Adjust the heat to a gentle boil (constant small bubbles breaking the surface).
For a set white and runny yolk, boil the egg for six minutes.
For a hard-boiled egg, boil it for nine minutes.
Remove the egg from the saucepan and place it in cold water to stop the egg from cooking further.
