RSPCA launches its new hatchery-specific STAG

We’re pleased to share that the RSPCA has officially launched a new hatchery-specific standards technical advisory group (STAG). This group replaces the previous process of discussing hatchery topics at existing species-specific meetings, helping streamline the process of developing new standards.

This opportunity will allow the RSPCA to seek the views and advice of the most relevant stakeholders for hatcheries, ensuring they’re informed by sector experience and the latest scientific research.

The first meeting was held at the beginning of 2026, bringing representatives from broiler, turkey, academic and veterinary industries together to share ideas and feedback.
