Exciting innovation at DairyTech 2026

The farm animals department attended DairyTech in February to explore the latest innovations shaping the industry.

It was encouraging to see that many of the cutting-edge technology and new products on display align with the RSPCA’s dairy welfare standards - with several also relevant to the beef standards.

Highlights included technologies for monitoring the condition and mobility of cows, improved rubber matting for walkways to enhance comfort, and tools to better understand and apply genetic data. These are all areas we continue to explore as part of the ongoing development of the RSPCA’s welfare standards.

As these innovations become widely available, we recognise that members may be considering new systems to further support higher welfare farming.

If you’re thinking about introducing new technology on your farm, please contact the farming and technical engagement team to discuss your plans.

They’re here to support you and could help you avoid unnecessary additional costs.
