Seeded flapjacks


Flapjacks are surprisingly easy to make and are a great energy-filled snack for when you’re on the go. You can play around with the ingredients to create your ultimate treat; try small pieces of your favourite dried fruit or crushed nuts. 

  • 125g butter or dairy-free spread
  • 30ml golden syrup
  • 225g porridge oats
  • 1tsp ground ginger
  • 125g demerara sugar
  • 30g pumpkin seeds
  • 30g sunflower seeds
  • 40g raisins
  • Turn oven on to 200⁰C/fan oven 180 C/Gas Mark 6 
  • Grease and line a 20cm square tin with greaseproof paper.
  • Melt butter and golden syrup in a medium-size saucepan.
  • When melted, add all the rest of the ingredients and mix well.
  • Spoon the contents into a lined baking tin and level out with the back of a spoon until even all over.
  • Bake in the oven for around 15 minutes until golden brown.
  • When cool, cut into squares or bars and wrap individual pieces in greaseproof paper for later.
