How to cook pasta

Ever wanted to know how to cook pasta well? You're not alone! Here are our simple and easy steps for cooking dried pasta perfectly every time.

  • 400 grams of dried pasta
  • Pinch of salt
  • At least 4 litres of water
Method
  • Bring a large saucepan of water, containing at least 4 litres, to the boil.
  • Add a pinch of salt.
  • Add the pasta and let the water come back to a gentle boil (you'll see a constant stream of small bubbles breaking the surface).
  • Cook penne for 10 to 12 minutes or as per pack instructions.
  • For fusilli, cook for 9 to 11 minutes or as per pack instructions.
  • Spaghetti should be cooked for 9 to 10 minutes or as per pack instructions.
  • Once cooked, drain the pasta immediately and serve.
