Junior Compassionate Cook is our annual cookery video contest for six to 12-year-olds and is a fun way of making the connection between good welfare and good food.

All children have to do is film themselves making their yummiest recipe using RSPCA Assured ingredients.

The competition opens on Monday 5 September 2016.

Entries close on Monday 14 November 2016.

The rules

To qualify you must:

  • be aged between six and 12
  • supervised by an adult
  • show you're using RSPCA Assured ingredients
  • make a video that doesn't exceed 5 minutes or 500mb
  • have your parent or guardian’s permission
  • adhere to full terms and conditions.

This year’s competition is in association with Co-op and Primary Times.

In addition, each winner and their school will receive a fun range of children's cookware.

All winners also get a subscription to the RSPCA's animal action magazine.

We're not looking for expert chefs or filmmakers, but fun presenters with recipes anyone can try!

Judging takes place on Tuesday 2 December 2016.

This year's celebrity judges are Liz McClarnon and Andi Peters.

People's Choice

The entry with the most votes will be awarded the People's Choice.
